Redwoods is open to original creators across four broad fields. These rules protect the work, preserve a fair audience process, and make a clear response within 28 days possible.

Before You Submit
A Work-First Route Into Redwoods
You do not need representation, industry credentials, awards, an established following, or personal access to submit. New and established creators are considered on the same work focused basis.
Open access does not mean lower standards. It means that the work receives an honest hearing on its merits, without first requiring the credentials, connections, or privileged access that too often determine who gets considered.
Representative Work
Submit the material that best carries the project’s voice, central idea, and execution. You may submit more than the required minimum, including the complete work.
Identity Removed
Your administrative identity is collected separately and the work is safely associated with the submitter. The files provided to the audience panel removes the identification for a blind review and feedback.
Clear Response
Every complete and admissible submission receives a decision and consolidated feedback within 28 calendar days.

Accepted Forms
Manuscripts, substantial fiction and nonfiction, screenplays, television pilots and series material, documentary treatments, children’s manuscripts, illustrated concepts, graphic or sequential work, and developed project decks accompanied by meaningful original material.
Minimum Material
At least 25 pages or one complete chapter
This minimum applies to text-led work. You choose the portion that best represents the project and may submit more, including the complete work.
Illustrative Work
Picture books, comics, visual comedy, concept art, and other primarily illustrative work are expressly welcome in Science Fiction, Comedy, and Children’s Education & Entertainment. Provide enough representative or sequential material to show the concept, visual language, and intended experience.
Blind Review
Remove Identifying Data From the Work
The project title may remain. The following information must be removed from the submitted file shared for audience review.
- Creator or author name, including any pen name
- Email, telephone number, address, website, or social-media handles
- Agent, manager, publisher, studio, production-company, or representation information
- Biography, résumé, acknowledgments, prior credits, awards, or promotional copy
- Identifying headers, footers, watermarks, title-page details, comments, or tracked-change identities
File Metadata
Redwoods will strip or suppress identifying document metadata where technically practical. You should still remove visible identification data before uploading.
Complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed where the work itself reveals authorship, depends on distinctive personal history, or has already circulated publicly. Redwoods will preserve blind review wherever reasonably possible.
AI Use and Integrity
Simple Disclosure. Human Judgment.
Redwoods is not opposed to AI in creativity. The intake asks only enough to direct any later rights and copyright review if the project advances.

AI may check explicit submission rules and identify possible unattributed similarity. It does not judge artistic quality, ideology, marketability, creator credibility, or whether Redwoods should accept the work. No submission is rejected solely because an automated system produces a similarity flag.
You stand behind the work. By submitting, you affirm that you have the full legal right and authority to submit and represent it and accept responsibility for any false, misleading, or unauthorized representation.
Confidential Evaluation
Defined Roles. Protected Separation.
Redwoods may circulate submitted material privately only to authorized personnel and assigned audience panel reviewers for evaluation.
Creators and audience panel do not communicate directly. Audience panel do not know one another’s identities or responses during active review.
Audience panel identities and raw comments remain protected. Creators receive moderated, consolidated findings from Redwoods.
Audience panel reviewers receive no funding information and have no financial incentive tied to the project.
Prohibited Conduct
Protect the Work and the Independence of the Process
- False or unauthorized representation of the right to submit the work.
- Knowingly submitting plagiarized or maliciously copied material.
- Attempting to identify, contact, pressure, reward, threaten, or publicly speculate about the audience panel.
- Coordinated public campaigns intended to influence an active review panel.
- Submitting malicious, corrupted, technically harmful, or password-protected files unless Redwoods specifically requests them.
- Resubmitting substantially unchanged work after a final outcome unless Redwoods expressly permits it.
The Response Commitment
28 Calendar Days From Admissibility
The clock begins when Redwoods confirms that the submission is complete, within an accepted lane and format, compliant with the rules, and eligible for audience review.
A request for missing or corrected material pauses the clock until you respond. Submissions may initially open in limited review cycles so that every admissible project receives meaningful consideration within the promised period.

Audience response informs Redwoods; it does not replace professional responsibility. The process also involves Redwoods consideration of factors such as development readiness, rights, slate fit, creator compatibility, and execution capacity.

What You Will Need
The first-stage form is deliberately short. It collects only what Redwoods needs to identify you administratively, route the work, protect blind review, and obtain consent.
- Full legal name, email address, country, and confirmation that you are 18 or older
- Project title, Redwoods lane, and project form
- Primary submission file and any optional supporting or illustrative file
- Optional private audiovisual link where relevant
- Optional context note of no more than approximately 150 words
- Confirmation that identifying information has been removed
- Generative-AI use answer and applicable category or categories
- Integrity and evaluation consent, electronic signature, and date
Not Required at First Intake
A mandatory logline or synopsis, creator biography, résumé, awards, credits, professional credentials, social following, intended-audience essay, development history, prior rejection history, projected budget, commercial strategy, detailed chain of title, or detailed narrative of AI use.

By continuing, you will be asked to affirm your authority to submit the work, authorize rule-compliance and possible- similarity screening, authorize confidential evaluation, agree not to identify or contact assigned reviewers, and acknowledge that submission does not itself transfer ownership or obligate Redwoods to publish, produce, finance, represent, or develop the project.
