A Direct Path Into Redwoods

Creators submit their work directly to Redwoods for serious consideration.

The process is built around the strength and potential of the work. Every creator enters through the same direct route, and each eligible project is considered on the material submitted.

Redwoods welcomes different voices, forms, structures, and creative ambitions across its four broad lanes. Original work has room to retain its identity and reach an audience in the form most appropriate to its creative purpose.

Redwoods works with creators to understand the creative vision, understand the audience response, and help where possible to carry that vision forward.

Your Work, Your Vision

Creators retain ownership and creative control throughout the submission and audience-assessment process.

You choose the material that best represents the project. Your voice, intent, and creative identity remain central to its future.

Where Redwoods and the creator decide to proceed together, the relationship begins through a separate agreement developed around the work, the creator’s ambitions, the audience opportunity, and the role Redwoods will play.

Audience Assessment

Insight From a Real Audience

Eligible submissions are assessed confidentially by an independent audience panel selected for the relevant creative lane.

Each project is presented to a newly assembled panel drawn from different perspectives, experiences, interests, and areas of knowledge. Panel members encounter the work independently and respond before seeing any other assessment.

This distributes creative judgment across the audience and produces a genuinely democratic signal about how the work reaches people.

The panel considers what held its attention, what felt distinctive, where engagement strengthened or weakened, and whether its members would seek out the completed project.

Redwoods brings those independent responses together, examines areas of agreement and disagreement, and provides the creator with a clear decision and consolidated feedback within 28 days.

Creator identity is retained separately by Redwoods for administration. Wherever reasonably possible, the Audience Panel receives the work without identifying information and encounters the project on its own terms.

Every Audience Cohort member participates under a verified identity, discloses current relevant industry affiliations, and signs a specific Confidentiality and Non-Use Agreement before receiving access to original work. Access is personal, view-only, and monitored; detectable attempts to copy, capture, download, record, or transfer protected material trigger immediate account suspension pending investigation. A confirmed breach ends access and exposes the member to contractual and legal consequences.

The Path Forward

From Creative Promise to Audience Access

Audience response establishes whether meaningful interest exists in the project.

For selected work, Redwoods works with the creator to determine what the project needs to move forward—whether that means developing the work further, bringing together the right collaborators, building the commercial proposition, securing financing, choosing the appropriate publishing or production path, or creating the route through distribution to its audience.

Different projects require different combinations of support. Redwoods brings those capabilities together around the work, its creator, and the audience opportunity.

How It Works

The Submission and Audience Process

Every eligible project follows the same four-stage process.

Submit Your Work

Choose the Redwoods lane and project form that best fit the work, provide the required material, and confirm your authority to submit it.

Integrity Review

Redwoods checks that the submission follows the published rules and examines it for signs of unattributed copying.

AI may assist with these narrow checks. Its role is limited to compliance and provenance.

Independent Audience Assessment

Eligible work is presented confidentially and, wherever reasonably possible, without identifying information to an independent audience panel.

Panel members respond individually and cannot see or influence one another’s assessments.

Redwoods Decision

Redwoods considers the strength of audience interest, areas of agreement and disagreement, written observations, and the potential pathway for the project.

The creator receives a clear decision and consolidated feedback within 28 days of the submission becoming complete and eligible for assessment.

AI checks compliance and provenance. The audience responds to the work. Redwoods determines what moves forward.

A Decision Within 28 Days

Every complete and eligible submission receives one of two clear outcomes.

Outcome One

Invitation to Proceed

Redwoods wishes to move the project forward with the creator.

The parties then discuss the proposed development path, responsibilities, rights, commercial terms, and the separate agreement required before work begins.

Outcome Two

Not Proceeding

Redwoods will not move the project forward.

The creator receives consolidated feedback explaining the principal audience signals, recurring strengths, recurring concerns, and the basis for the decision.

A submission does not create a development relationship by itself. A project moves forward only when Redwoods and the creator enter into a separate agreement.

Project Forms

Depending on the lane, submissions may include manuscripts, nonfiction works, novels, screenplays, television pilots, documentary treatments, children’s works, illustrated concepts, visual storytelling, and developed project decks containing substantial original material.

Text-Led Work

Text-led submissions should include at least 25 pages or one complete representative chapter or episode. Creators may submit more, including a complete work.

Illustrative and Visual Work

Picture books, comics, graphic concepts, and other visual forms should include enough representative or sequential material for the audience panel to understand the concept, storytelling, and intended experience.
